Cooking for Wellness: Market District will help us demonstrate that anyone can learn to cook — that it's fun, can save you money and help you, your family and friends to live a healthier life. It will feature healthful, easy-to-follow recipes focused on cancer prevention, survivorship and overall well-being. The Cancer Support Community Wellness Chef, Bryan Loveless, will be joined by featured Market District Chefs and Registered Dietitians. They will prepare flavorful, seasonal, and healthful meals incorporating fresh, simple, whole ingredients at the Market District demonstration kitchen. Delicious cooking can open up a whole new world of great food to everyone who comes to the class and raise awareness of the importance of nutritious food and cooking and their impact on the lives of everyone.
NBC 4 will bring Cooking for Wellness to the Daytime Columbus show, hosted by Gail Hogan, every month. This live program features the work of community groups and area businesses. Gail's lively, friendly hosting mixes in plenty of fun! Watch Daytime Columbus live every weekday at 11:00 a.m., only on NBC 4.

Appetite for Appetizers!
Appetizers can be one of the most healthful — and delicious — parts of a meal, when they incorporate key nutritional powerhouses such as sweet potatoes. Try this one and taste for yourself.
Roasted Sweet Potato Fries with Curry Yogurt
2 sweet potatoes, cut into wedges (approximately 8 wedges/potatoes)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Preheat over to 350° F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place the sweet potato wedges on the cookie sheet, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 20 minutes, or until potatoes are slightly crisp. Serve with Curry Yogurt (add 1 teaspoon curry powder to 1 cup plain yogurt and stir to mix thoroughly).
