about us
The national Wellness Community and Gilda's Club Worldwide joined forces in November, 2009 to become the largest provider of psychosocial cancer support in North America extending our reach to even more people affected by cancer. Both organizations share unwavering commitment to quality, integrity and research based programs and services.

Our name recently changed to the Cancer Support Community Central Ohio. We are a network of local Gilda's Club and The Wellness Community centers worldwide, providing professional programs of emotional support, education and hope for people affected by cancer at no charge so that no one faces cancer alone.
The Cancer Support Community (CSC) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing free emotional support, education and hope for people with cancer and their loved ones. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body programs utilizing the Patient Active Concept, people affected by cancer can learn vital skills to regain control, reduce feelings of isolation and restore hope-regardless of the stage of disease.
The Cancer Support Community Central Ohio is one of 62 chapters of CSC and is located in Central Ohio.
We provide a full range of cancer wellness programs and services for all cancer patients, any diagnosis, any stage, their family members, and caregivers. We launched the first survivorship program in central Ohio, specifically addressing the needs of diet, exercise and support for long-term quality of life. CSC is unique in providing programming in a community, home-like setting. We offer more than 80 monthly on-going programs and services as part of a comprehensive cancer care. Our programs and services are provided at no cost, to ensure that there is not an additional financial burden on those already coping with life-threatening issues.
Community is perhaps the most important aspect of the Cancer Support Community's model of care that differentiates the program from any other. Today, thousands of people with cancer and their loved ones unite together through our programs. People come at diagnosis, during or at the end of treatment, at recurrence or several years out of treatment. They all come to learn they are not alone in their fight--whether for physical, emotional or spiritual recovery. Together, they regain a sense of control over their lives and ultimately discover that hope is a valuable tool irrespective of the stage of disease.
